    Introduction

    Boston University CELOP Advance programs are offered in the fall, spring and summer. Both programs are designed to help you develop the skills, fluency, and confidence you need to communicate effectively in English. You’ll improve your overall abilities in both spoken and written English, as well as your understanding of U.S. culture. After completing your program, you’ll be better prepared to use English at work, in school, or among international friends.

      Programs

      I: INTENSIVE 12-WEEK 20 HOURS

      • English language learners of all proficiency levels
      • Learners who want to study the English language for professional or personal goals
      • Individuals who want to pursue academic goals, such as an undergraduate or graduate education or an academic certificate
      Program Features
      • Customize your program of study: choose a core concentration and 1 elective class
      • Take advantage of university admissions resources, including free college advising and TOEFL waivers to Boston-area universities and colleges
      • Experience life on a university campus: opt for BU on-campus housing and access the resources of a highly ranked research university
      • Engage with BU undergraduate and graduate students through student organizations, activities, and sporting events

      II: ENGLISH PLUS CREDIT

      • Students with advanced English proficiency
      • Students who want to improve their English while earning Boston University (BU) credit
      Program Features
      • Combine English studies with a credit-bearing course at BU Metropolitan College (MET)
      • Choose a MET undergraduate course (100-499) worth 4 credits and receive a BU academic transcript
      • Prepare for an undergraduate program through firsthand experience in a Boston University classroom
      • Take advantage of university admissions resources, including free college advising and TOEFL waivers to Boston-area universities and colleges
      • Experience life on a university campus: opt for BU on-campus housing and access resources available at a highly ranked research university
